Who wants to see the shiny NIGHTFALL cover????????

I'm pretty sure the answer to that question is all of you!

And we all know the drill–you're just going to skip past everything I say here and go straight to the cover, so … scroll away!

BEHOLD:

!!!!!!!!
Once again, Jason Chan (the artist) has blown me away with his talent.
LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUSNESS!!!
Sophie's outfit!
Linh's hair!
Keefe! (!!!)
The rising wave!
The circle of hand-holding!
THE GIANT BALL OF WATER!!!
(And yes, I totally geek out every time I see that “New York Times and USA Today bestseller” line on there–that's because of you guys!!)
I'm sure now that you're looking at it, you have LOTS of questions–and if they involve spoilers, sorry, I will not be answering them. But here's a few answers I can give you:

~ Yes, as I said above: that is Sophie, Linh, and Keefe on the cover

~ Yes, this is the third time that Keefe has been on a cover.

~ Team Keefe (or any of the other teams, really) should *not* read anything into that.

~ Yes, I realize that some of the other characters haven't been on as many covers.

~ No, that doesn't mean I don't love those characters just as much.

~ Which characters end up on the cover is dictated by the scene that gets chosen, and in this case, the scene that was chosen happens to be a moment with Sophie, Keefe, and Linh. It's as simple as that.

~ Also, who doesn't want a cover with a giant water-ball on it? I'm pretty sure the answer is, “no one.”

~ Yes, everyone who isn't shown on the cover will definitely be in the book as much as I can possibly squeeze them in.

~ No, I will not tell you anything else about what's happening in the scene, or anything else about the plot of the book.

~ Yes, I am–in fact–still writing the book. But don't worry, this scene will for sure be in there.  đŸ™‚

~ And no, I really really really can't tell you what's happening in this scene (so please don't ask). All I can do is share the official flap copy again, in case you missed it when I posted this a few weeks back:

Sophie Foster is struggling. Grieving. Scrambling. But she knows one thing: she will not be defeated.

The Neverseen have had their victories—but the battle is far from over. It’s time to change tactics. Make sacrifices. Reexamine everything. Maybe even time for Sophie to trust her enemies.

All paths lead to Nightfall—an ominous door to an even more ominous place—and Sophie and her friends strike a dangerous bargain to get there. But nothing can prepare them for what they discover. The problems they’re facing stretch deep into their history. And with time running out, and mistakes catching up with them, Sophie and her allies must join forces in ways they never have before.

In this spectacular sixth book in the New York Timesand USA TODAY bestselling Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie must uncover the truth about the Lost Cities’ insidious past, before it repeats itself and changes reality.

Oh, and one more thing I can share. The current official release day! (which could change since, you know, I'm still writing the book–but hopefully not!)

NIGHTFALL goes on sale 11/7/17!

It's even up for pre-order on amazon (and other websites will be adding it soon. Amazon is always first–don't ask me why–and then the others follow)

(and yes, there will be another pre-order giveaway. Official details won't be posted until October–but all pre-orders count. So you're welcome to order anytime. In fact, you'll have my eternal love and devotion if you do because pre-orders are super helpful to authors)

And… I guess that's it. I'm not even sure if any of you are bothering to read this or if you've already scrolled up to stare at the amazingness. BUT, in case you are reading it, I'm going to end with a super-important plea: PLEASE help me keep this website spoiler free.

I *know* you're going to want to leave comments speculating about what you think might be happening. But PLEASE make sure that if you do that, what you say doesn't give away any spoilers for the previous books. (And no, putting something like *SPOILERS BELOW* and then including a ton of spoilers doesn't make it okay.) I'm not trying to be mean–I just have to be fair to all of my readers, and there are many who are excited to see the cover even though they're still catching up on reading the books.

If you want to have spoiler-y discussions, please do it on your own instagrams/tumblrs/goodreads groups/blogs, etc. This website is a No-Spoiler Zone. So I *will* have my assistant delete any comments that include even the slightest hint of a spoiler. Thank you in advance for being the awesome, respectful readers I know you can be.

And now, I'd better get back to writing the book!!! November 7th isn't that far away!!!!!
